A trip to Britain is never complete without a visit to the Wirral.
The Wirral is a peninsula situated between the rivers Mersey and Dee and stretching into Liverpool Bay and the Irish Sea. On the north side of the peninsula you can see across the water to Liverpool's famous skyline, while the south coast of the peninsula commands spectacular views of north Wales.
The Wirral offers 60 square miles of wonderful landscapes, friendly northern personalities and oodles of charm and character.
The Wirral is also famous for its golf courses. It a has no fewer than 14 courses, including the renowned Royal Liverpool Golf Club, home to the 2006 Open.
But there's much more than golf. The Wirral offers a wide variety of sports and interests, with excellent facilities for tennis, swimming, birdwatching, walking, cycling, sailing, fishing and of course football.
Meanwhile Liverpool is ten minutes drive away. It is the arts and cultural capital of North West England. Liverpool is the Capital of Culture 2008.
There are also many good pubs and restaurants near the properties, as well as amusements such as pitch-and-putt, tennis, ten-pin bowling and sea-fishing.
